Mexico Honeymoon Round Up...

For those of you headed to Mexico for your honeymoon, or even just a romantic vacation like I'm about to embark on, you'll need a few essentials. I've put together a round up of some of my personal favorite items, and a few I don't own yet, but would love to get my hands on!

You'll need a great beach bag (one that can double as a carry on is a plus!), as well as a light scarf in case the nights get a bit chilly. Plus, who doesn't love something to cuddle up with on the plane? This awesome Bamboula Market Tote by Madewell is the one I'll be taking with me on our trip. I love it, and it goes with everything, which is a plus. How pretty is this scarf, also by Madewell?

Once you arrive and hit the beach or pool, you'll want to be armed with a few necessities! I love the retro style swimsuits that have been making a comeback. This one from Mod Cloth is cute, comfortable, and versatile. You can tuck the halter ties into the suit if you want to avoid tan lines. If you prefer a bikini, they have a ton of retro style two pieces as well! I recently got these Betsey Johnson sunglasses from Urban Outfitters. I'm always a little wary of bringing my more expensive sunglasses on beach vacations in case they get broken, scratched, or lost, and this pair makes a wonderful inexpensive, but still stylish choice. These Sam Edelman Gigi sandals have been my favorites for three years running! Last but not least, the sun hat. I'll admit, I don't usually wear hats, but with the August heat beating down on me, I want to protect my head and face. I bought a fedora style as well, but this floppy sun hat, also from Urban Outfitters, is the one I am most excited to wear.

You'll need some cute dresses as well, and I am loving these options from Free People! The Tie Me Up Dress, The Getaway Dress (I need this one!) and Festival Mini Dress.

You can't forget to protect your skin! This facial sunblock by Shiseido is my absolute favorite! It's on the expensive side, but a little goes a long way, so the bottle will last you. I always love to wear a bright, punchy nail polish when I'm heading to a tropical destination. Corals always top my list, and this shade, Lament by Illamasqua, is gorgeous! Finally, don't forget to keep an spf lip balm on hand. I think this one by Kiss My Face is really mosturizing, and I love how minty it is!
