Honeymoon Monday: A Relaxing Palm Springs Getaway

When Mary of Blue Window Creative sent over these gorgeous photos of two Palm Springs resorts, I knew they would be perfect for a Honeymoon Monday feature! Palm Springs is a desert haven for those of us in Southern California. People flock there in droves to escape the hustle and bustle of their busy lives. It is the perfect getaway where you can lay by the pool and relax with a drink, do some hiking, shopping, dining, or partake in one of the many spas in the area. It would make a perfect destination for a stateside honeymoon!

The first of the two resorts Mary visited and photographed is the Korakia Pensione. An exotic gem right in the heart of Palm Springs! Here's a bit about it from Mary herself:

The Korakia was very bright, textured, and inviting. Beautiful landscaping, unique architecture, a hammock ready for cuddling, and several nap-worthy nooks. There were two sides to it-the Mediterranean and Moroccan, each with its own charm. However, at that time, we could only access the Moroccan side-so most of the pictures are of that one; the Mediterranean is just across the street. Seemed ideal for intimate weddings, or just a weekend get-away.

The next resort is The Horizon Hotel. It has the fabulous mid-century modern look and feel that Palm Springs is known for! More from Mary:

The Horizon had a completely different aesthetic, but also a lot of character. This was a very geometric, clean, beautifully simple, or maybe even 60's style location. There was an outside bar next to the pool, as well as a great table-top fire pit. Seemed like a really great place to have a party while at the same time having plenty of wide open spaces to relax in. Even had some grassy lawns for badminton, or a ceremony!
Which of these two resorts is more your style? The old world feel of the Korakia, or the mid-century modern flair of The Horizon?

A big thank you to Mary of Blue Window Creative for sharing these beautiful photos. To see more of Mary's work, check out the Blue Window Creative blog!

Palm Springs is one of the coolest places...it's like a mirage in the middle of the dessert. Loved it when we passed through!
