Honeymoon Monday: L'Auberge Carmel

Growing up in the Bay Area, I was lucky to live near a plethora of beautiful little towns. Topping my list of favorites is Carmel-by-the-Sea, a charming community located right on California's majestic coastline. My Mom and I would often take day or weekend trips there and stroll around the storybook village full of adorable shops, darling cottages and fantastic restaurants. Walk just steps away from the incredible shopping and dining, and you will find yourself on an absolutely spectacular beach dotted with a canopy of stunning trees.

While Carmel-by-the-Sea made a great day trip for my Mom and I, it would also make a perfect honeymoon destination! Quiet and romantic, you could spend your days eating at amazing restaurants( I highly recommend Casanova), taking in spa treatments, browsing art galleries and shopping. Just a short drive away are Monterey and Big Sur, two locations rich with history and definitely worth visiting. Like golfing? The world renowned Pebble Beach is right next door.
There are tons of wonderful hotels and bed and breakfasts, but one that really stands out from the crowd is  L'Auberge Carmel. A luxury boutique hotel built in the European style, L'Auberge offers all the amenities you could wish for, while providing a charming old world ambiance. Wanted to honeymoon in the French countryside, but couldn't quite make it? This gem of a hotel offers a great alternative closer to home.

This makes me want to take a trip to Carmel, stat! I love it there so much and would love to spend a romantic weekend with the hubby relaxing at L'Auberge Carmel. Aahhh, pure bliss!

Don't forget, I'm always looking for honeymoons to feature! I want to read your stories and drool over your amazing photos. Brides, bloggers, wedding professionals- I want to hear from all of you! Please send your honeymoon submissions to theloveliestday@gmail.com :)

This post made me so excited for my own honeymoon in November. We are staying in Carmel-by-the-Sea for a week and I can't wait! I lived in Monterey until I was five and haven't been back since. It has such a special place for me. I will be sure to let you know about our trip once we're back!

I got married in Carmel so I'm biased, but I think it's the most romantic place in the world!
